Cambridge SU Women’s Campaign recently published the second version of the ‘How to spot TERF ideology’ guide, originally published in 2019. The guide was printed after being approved through our normal democratic processes at Student Council at the end of the 2020-21 academic year. All decisions at Student Council are discussed and voted on by undergraduate and postgraduate representatives of each college. The guide was released in time to be distributed at the annual Freshers’ Fair. It was not produced in response to any recent events.
We want to reinforce Cambridge SU’s commitment to protecting trans students and ensuring they have a safe university in which to live, study and socialise. At a time when trans people are subject to an incredibly hostile political and media environment, Cambridge SU remains strongly committed to supporting trans rights.
