Cambridge SU's policy is usally set by Student Council, or by a Student Members' Meeting or referendum of the student body.

How does Policy work?

Policy sets out the principles by which Cambridge SU conducts itself and its campaigns, and mandates the Executive to carry out specific actions. The sabbatical and part-time officers are bound by policy, and held to account for its delivery by Student Council. Once policy is passed, it is valid for three years unless it is renewed.

Creating Policy

The usual route is by a vote of Student Council on policies proposed by students at regular meetings. Information on how to put together a motion to create policy is show on the Student Council page, or you can get in touch with the Council Chair and support staff who can provide impartial help.
