About

The MCR refers to the Peterhouse Graduate Student Society, which is responsible for organising social events and representing graduate students' interests in college matters. Our events include dinners, brunches, film nights, game nights, yoga classes, and cycling trips. The MCR also provides free tea and coffee, as well as a selection of publications in our common room at Peterhouse.

Peterhouse MCR Elections 2026/7

The MCR will be holding an election over the coming weeks to fill the next academic year's committee. In this election, the positions of President, Secretary, Treasurer, Social Secretaries, Welfare & Equal Opportunities Officers and International Officer will be up for election. Nominations will open on Tuesday the 5th of May, and will remain open for a week. If you are interested in running, you will need to line up two companions to propose and second your applications. We encourage applications from all MCR members, even if you have only just joined us! If you have enjoyed our events, or if you have ideas about how we could improve life within the MCR community, we’d be eager to have you join our team. Nominations can be entered into a spreadsheet. Once nominations have closed, there will be a week for campaigning, followed by a Hustings event, where MCR members can gather to ask candidates questions and hear their ideas and goals within their prospective roles. The date of Hustings will be confirmed depending on the availability of the candidates, but ideally, will be between the 20th and 24th of May. The election will open at the end of the Hustings event.

8 posts are up for election.

Nominations are now closed.

The polls open at 19:00 on Sunday 24 May 2026 (in 8 days)
