  • Societies/groups: CU Islamic Society, Cambridge MENA Society, CU Palestine Solidarity Society, CU Student Minds, CU Women’s History Society, Peterhouse Beard (Feminist) Society. 

  • Why did you run to be a sabb? Having experienced access and widening participation schemes on ‘both sides’ - both as a prospective Muslim disabled student from a low-income background, and then as a student myself - I know that there is a long way that Cambridge still has to go to be truly an inclusive space, which provides all students with equal opportunities for success, both before, during and after their time at Cambridge. In particular, I am really excited about working on my affordability and accessibility initiatives for this year! :) 

  • Fun fact about yourself: I really love calligraphy, and I can justify almost any purchase if it involves stationery! ✒️

  • Favourite hotspot/location in Cambridge: If I’m hanging out with friends, then probably the Deer Park in Peterhouse - it’s so gorgeous and quiet, and there’s a lovely heated gazebo, and also a swing!  If I’m studying - I fear this might be an unpopular opinion - probably the University Library.
