Establish 'External Events Officer' Role on the MCR Committee

Back

Establish a new "External Events Officer" role on the MCR Committee. The Officer will manage and increase the number of swaps each term and maintain our relationships with Merton (Oxford) and the Royal College of Music (London), easing the workload for the social secretaries. The Officer will initially be appointed (ideally from new 1 year students) so they can begin work in a timely fashion, before standing in November elections to receive a democratic mandate retroactively.

The officer will be expected to attend both “home” and “away” events in a supervisory capacity, unless they can arrange for another member of the committee to take their place.
