Amend Clause 2.14 of the Constitution
Back
Should the Corpus Christi MCR amend clause 2.14 of its constitution, to read "A person may only be elected or appointed an MCR Committee Member to the same MCR Committee Position more than three times if no other nominations for that Position are received.”?
Clause 2.14 of the Corpus Christi MCR constitution currently reads: "No person may be elected or appointed an MCR Committee Member to the same MCR Committee Position more than twice (i.e., for a maximum of two years in the same position).”
The Committee has opted to do this as Committee positions can be difficult to fill, and it can take a full first term to even figure out how to do your position effectively. At the same time, elections are always open for any MCR member to run in (more on this below), so if someone has been in a position for too long, it is always possible for someone else to run against them. As such, we thought we’d make it possible for people to stay in their roles a little longer, as long as nobody else is keen to take it on.
