Cambridge University Sri Lanka Society aims to provide a community for students who share an interest in Sri Lankan traditions, culture and history. Our aim is to represent the growing Sri Lankan community in Cambridge and introduce other nationalities to our vibrant culture and heritage. As a society, we hope to raise awareness and build a strong network of members through small scale social events, including club nights, formals and planned Sri Lankan food appreciation nights. A longer-term goal is to link up with other universities and organise meets with their Sri Lankan societies. By creating a broader base of contacts, we will have the opportunity to meet a wider Sri Lankan student network and hopefully attend integrated, larger social and cultural events. The Society is open to all ethnicities, races and religions, regardless of Sri Lankan heritage or not – anyone with an interest in the culture, or who simply wants to join for the food, is welcome!
