Overview

Unlike the festival this particular bout of madness is of our own devising. Many of us have become so used to lockdown life that straight up in person socialising might be a little overwhelming. We have designed a transitional Summer party. Retaining some of the elements that have seen us through these dark and strange times. Times tbc, but most likely 12pm-9pm.

Dress code: Your best lockdown outfit. This could be that going out dress you bought online, knowing full well you weren't going anywhere for six months. The loungewear you purchased when you finally accepted 2020's fate, or the onesie covered in holes that you basically lived in for a year which after this final outing should probably be burnt. Come comfy. Come sparkly. Whatever got you through.

Food: Lockdown favourites such as slow cooker recipes, sourdough, and banana bread. I'm gonna draw the line at fermenting our own Kombucha. We'll send out a dietary form closer to the event and make sure to accommodate requirements as much as possible.

Activities: We will naturally have a pub quiz. Though this time you won't need a separate chat window to confer with your team mates. Don't worry about getting a team together as this is a social and I will go round making up roughly even teams. Get excited for live comedy and music. There will also be a raffle, tombola and photobooth.

Tickets: These will be £11 and include entry, food, a drinks voucher, and a succulent because owning succulents is something we do now. We expect tickets for this to sell out pretty quickly based on first response so be ready when they go on sale.

Further drinks and snacks will be very affordable at £1-3 so alongside the raffle and tombola we recommend bringing some change!

This event is being delivered to your fine selves at cost. Any profits from raffles and drinks etc will go towards our school outreach program in September. If you sign up on the day of the event to help with the outreach program you will receive yet another free drinks voucher!

If by the end of such a homely and gentle return to society, you are ready to make the full leap back into clubbing, we have even more good news. We are currently negotiating a discounted ticket price to an afterparty at one of the beleaguered Cambridge clubs.
