About

We are a student-led group based in the Physics Department. We are committed to creating a community of support, opportunities, and inspiration for gender minorities in physics.

Many accomplished women academics, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals with backgrounds in physics serve as inspirational figures for the emerging generation of women in physics.  The Cambridge University Women in Physics Society (CUWPS) is dedicated to amplifying the visibility of these successful women, positioning them as role models for younger individuals considering careers in physics. As a student-led organization comprising undergraduates, PhD candidates, and Postdocs from the University of Cambridge, UK, we organise academic seminars, career workshops, and social events. Through these initiatives, we foster connections and create opportunities for students and staff to mutually inspire and empower each other to realize their full potential.
