Young Greens are the youth and student branch of the Green Party, standing for a just and sustainable future.
The Green Party is far from being just an 'environment' party. We stand for: free, fully-funded and universally accessible education and health care; people before profit; peace and global justice; animal rights; democratic and accountable government ... and much more (http://greenparty.org.uk/values/).
Following a hiatus, we are aiming to get going properly again in the 2020-21 academic year.
Cambridge Young Greens was set up in Michaelmas term 2013, but have already established ourselves on the political scene in Cambridge. We campaigned actively in the 2014 European elections, increasing our vote and ensuring that 20% of the Cambridge electorate voted Green in the European elections. As part of our termtime programme we have arranged talks, discussion groups, socials and campaigns.
We're a social group always looking for new members and activists, so if you would like to challenge the status quo of politics and economics and work for a fair and sustainable future, let us know on firstname.lastname@example.org.
