About

The Cambridge Marxist Society exists not only to discuss Marxist theory, but to put theory into action! Get in touch via social media/email to find out how you can get involved.

32% of young people have a positive view of communism. Are you one of them? Join Cambridge Marxist Society and get organised!

Cambridge Marxist Society is the place for Revolutionary Communism at Cambridge University. We are an organisation fighting for international socialist revolution around the ideas of Marx, Engels, Lenin and Trotsky. We are involved in organising and educating all around Cambridge, with comrades at Cambridge University, Anglia Ruskin University and workers in the city building the Revolutionary Communist Party.

In the MarxSoc, we study revolutionary theory so that we may put it into practice. We hold educational open meetings on questions of economics, politics, social issues and current affairs throughout the term. In Michaelmas 2025, look forward to meetings on ‘How to Fight Oppression’ and ‘Why You Should Be A Communist’! We attend national events such as Revolution Festival and the RCP Summer Camp, studying closely the ideas that we then take onto the street to organise. We regularly attend strikes and protests in the city, having supported workers on the picket line striking with UCU, BMA, Unite, NEU, RCN and more. We regularly attend and speak at protests in support of a free Palestine, trans rights and welfare, not warfare.

Capitalism is in crisis. The working class is larger and stronger than it has ever been before. A socialist future is possible. Do you want to fight for a revolution? Send us a DM, email us, or come along to an event to get involved and fight for your future!
