About

Apotheosis is a interdisciplinary philosophy society which puts an emphasis on discussion and ducks. Our events are entirely free to attend, and everybody is welcome!

We are Cambridge's largest undergraduate philosophy society, open to anybody who has an interest in philosophy and its wider implications. Our members tend to be an eclectic mix from every subject across the university, and our talks assume no prior philosophical knowledge. We place an emphasis on discussion - most of our events consist of a short talk (~15 minutes) followed by an hour of round table discussion. We also organise longer format talks given by lecturers here at the university or external speakers. Our events span a wide range of subjects, including philosophy of science, politics, ethics, epistemology, cognitive science, and psychedelics. If you have an interest in philosophy, you're sure to find something that appeals to you!

Our events will be taking place on a random selection of Tuesday and Friday evenings, between 19:30 and 21:00, on our Discord server.

Membership is free and open to all. Sign up to our mailing list here! We are also on Facebook, which is the most reliable way to stay in touch and hear about new events!
