About

We do Scottish Country Dancing (similar to ceilidh dancing), as well as Highland and Scottish Step classes. Scottish dancing is incredibly sociable and we run regular, beginner-friendly classes!

Cambridge University Strathspey and Reel Club (the Reel Club, for short) is a society devoted to Scottish country dancing. Ordinarily, we offer classes for all abilities during term time, host and regularly travel to balls and evening dances, and perform at celebrations of Scottish traditions. Members can also attend Highland and Scottish Step dancing classes. We welcome both students and Cambridge residents, and run beginners' classes all year round. Check out our YouTube channel here for a flavour: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwGCvw9E9BRO9qPDYqt21rw

Unfortunately, we are not currently running Scottish dancing classes due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but have been organising some activities online and in smaller, distanced groups. If you are curious about trying Scottish dancing when possible, or would like details of events we're organising in the meantime, please join our mailing list here (we promise not to send excessive emails!): https://lists.cam.ac.uk/mailman/listinfo/soc-cusrc; drop us an email; or have a look at our website: https://cusarc.wixsite.com/cusarc
