If you can’t come but wanna chat, we have a CA  x LGBT+ Messenger group chat - feel free to messaged Class Act or contact the CA Acting LGBT+ Officer Amy Bottomley (she/her) by email (at806) or on Messenger.

But what is Class Act?
Class Act covers anyone who experienced any kind of social, cultural, educational or economic disadvantage. This includes (but is definitely not limited to!) being first generation, working class, low income, estranged, care-experienced, or state-comprehensive educated. If you self-identify with any of these, or think the community might be valuable to you for another reason, you are welcome. There is no hierarchy of disadvantage and you will never be asked to disclose your reasons for being here.

Are you questioning or not publicly/widely out?
You're still welcome! Nobody will ever question why you are in this space and there is zero pressure to discuss your identity. Everyone will be reminded at the start of the event to be aware of the different circumstances we are all in, and that we should never assume that anyone is 'out' unless they say so.

Access Statement:
You can log in to Google Meet with your crsid, but can also join with any Google account - be aware that your display name will match your preferred name on whichever Google Account you join with. Live captions are available on both desktop and mobile. You can choose to turn on your video and/or microphone, or leave them off and just use the chat function, it's up to you! Feel free to arrive or leave or take a break at any time. Please get in touch with Amy Bottomley (she/her) by email (at806) or on Messenger if you have any questions or concerns.
