Overview

Come along to our first Welfare Forum of term!

This forum is aimed at Welfare Officers from J/MCRs, societies and campaigns, but any students are welcome to attend.

We’ll be discussing the ‘Fitness to Study’ process (also called ‘capability or support to study’ in some colleges). This is essentially a forced suspension for students who are deemed not capable to study, often on mental health grounds.

We’ll be joined by the head of OSCCA (the Office for Student Conduct Complaints and Appeals) for the first part of the session, and the last section will be for student-only discussion.

The structure of the event: this will be a relaxed discussion and you are free to leave at any time. There will be light refreshments for a variety of dietary requirements (vegan, gluten free) but get in contact if you have other dietary needs. There will be an access break halfway through.

If you have any questions please email daisy.thomas@cambridgesu.co.uk or contact Daisy SU on Facebook or Twitter.

Access statement: The exact location of the SU Lounge can be found via this link (https://what3words.com/theme.inches.shuts). It is on the 3rd floor. There is a lift to access the floor.
