About

We are the Cambridge University Kurdish Society, a student led initiative that celebrates and promotes Kurdish history and culture in and around Cambridge University.

Our society is an open and inclusive space for everyone interested in exploring and engaging with Kurdish struggles, culture, and solidarity. We aim to raise awareness and understanding of national struggles, social upliftment, and the power of community in the face of hardship and marginalisation.

Kurdish issues intersect with many global concerns: from resisting state violence and marginalisation to advancing women’s liberation, LGBTQ+ rights, and broader movements for justice and equality. By fostering dialogue, cultivating solidarity, and celebrating resilience, we aim to create a welcoming community for all who share these values.
