About

The University's competitive Ballroom and Latin Dance team. With over 140 active members last year we compete across the country, building to the National Championships and our Varsity Match.

Ever seen Strictly Come Dancing and wondered what if would feel like to whizz across the dancefloor in a flash of colour with your partner in your arms? – Look no further, the Cambridge University Dancesport Team (CUDT) is your answer! Our team represents Cambridge in inter-university competitions throughout the year, in dances such as Waltz, Quickstep, Cha-Cha, and Jive. We provide professional coaching, costumes and a welcoming family atmosphere for everyone, whether you have never danced a step in your life or grew up on the dancefloor. We have been undefeated national champions since 2012, have won every Varsity competition since 2011 and have consistently been one of the top three English universities for the past two decades. Additionally, CUDT has competed – and won – at various international events. These achievements have been recognised by the University with the sport holding discretionary full-blue status for both the men and women on team. The Dancesport Team is subdivided into a First, Second, and Beginners team catering to all levels of experience and skill: whether or not you’ve danced before, we’ll be happy to welcome you to CUDT. All you need is passion and team spirit, so feel free to get in touch and come along!
