What is "blind" wine tasting? It involves tasting wines without prior knowledge of grape variety, origin or vintage. In other words, we have to work out what the wine is!
At CUBWTS, our weekly sessions provide guided instruction on wine-tasting techniques and useful information on regions and styles. Everyone's welcome throughout the year from complete beginners to seasoned professionals.
Towards the end of Michaelmas, we hold a trial to select our team, which represents Cambridge in the annual Oxford-Cambridge Varsity Blind Wine Tasting Match, sponsored by Pol Roger, and a number of international competitions, such as the Left Bank Bordeaux Cup, organised by the Commanderie du Bontemps.
