The society is intended to foster a community of people from the Southern Cone (Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay) and help the exchange in cultural matters among members and to the broad University community. Most of the events organized so far comprise informal gatherings where members shared typical food from the region, and shared artistic expressions such as cinema and music.
