Side Project Network is a community for students, researchers, and earlycareer professionals who are developing interests, ventures, or creative projects alongside their main academic or professional commitments. The society provides a supportive space for individuals exploring ideas beyond their primary work—whether those ideas relate to career transitions, personal development, entrepreneurship, or creative experimentation. Our aims are to: foster a peer network for sharing experiences, challenges, and opportunities related to side projects or alternative career interests; offer workshops, talks, and informal meet-ups that help members develop practical skills, confidence, and clarity around their projects or career paths; encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and exchange; promote a culture in which exploratory, non-linear, and curiosity-driven pursuits are recognised and valued. Membership is open to anyone interested in building or exploring something outside their main line of work or study. The society is nonhierarchical, inclusive, and committed to creating an environment where members feel welcomed to share ideas at any stage of development.
