The CU Crochet and Knitting Society aims to create a calm, friendly space where students can relax, socialise, and get a chance to be creative through crochet and knitting.
This is not a society just for skilled crocheters and knitters but also for those who want to start a new skill. We plan to hold weekly meetups where members of all levels can bring their projects, learn from each other, and enjoy a welcoming community with tea and snacks. In addition to regular meetings we will hold film nights, society swaps (eg. Swap with bubble tea society), picnic meetings, an end of term formal dinner and beginner-friendly workshops. We will organise group projects, such as a granny square blanket to be sold in support of a chosen charity, or donating handmade items to local organisations. Our goal is to build an inclusive relaxed community that fosters creativity, connection, and mindful breaks from the busy pace of Cambridge life.
