2026/2027 Gonville and Caius JCR By-elections
These by-elections will be conducted at the beginning of Easter Term to fill the remaining five positions on the JCR Executive. The available roles are as follows:
- Clubs and Societies Officer
- International Officer (Only members of the Union who live outside the UK during vacations or are classed as ‘overseas’ according to their fee status may stand for the International Officer.)
- Class Act Officer (Only members of the Union who self-identify with one or more of the Class Act criteria may stand for the Class Act Officer.)
- Welfare Officer(s) — There are two Welfare Officer positions to be filled. In accordance with the Constitution, the JCR is looking for at least one self-identifying male candidate to apply for this role. The purpose of this is for the broadest possible representation and a voice on the Executive for issues relating to men's mental health.
Nominations will open at noon on Tuesday 28th April. They will close at noon on Wednesday 6th May.
Provisionally, hustings will take place on Thursday 7th May with an additional date on Friday 8th May if necessary. If you are planning to run and these dates are unsuitable, please email me as soon as possible.
The ballot for the election will open at noon on Monday 11th May and close at noon on Wednesday 13th May.
