CU Handball Club

The Cambridge University Handball Club was set up in the 2013/14 season. Since then we compete in the University Championships, which has now officially been integrated as a BUCS competition! We also compete at the annual Varsity games, with the men’s team regaining the title this year with an ecstatic comeback in the last minutes of the game! Besides the official competitions, we also organise many friendlies with other universities and collaborate closely with the Cambridge Handball Club for anyone who wants to play Premier League handball and compete at the highest level in the UK. This means plenty of handball all year around! But above all, we are a community and welcome everyone. Many of our players are total beginners, but within a short period of time everyone integrates well into the team and is able to compete at top university level. Part of the secret to this success are our many socials, which helped us create so many friendships on and off the court! As a half-blue sport, handball has also been recognised amongst the established sports clubs in the University of Cambridge sports community. We train 3 times a week at the University Sports Centre - Monday 6:30-7:30pm (Strength Session), Tuesday 6-8pm and Friday 6-8pm. Training for the 2023 season will officially start on the 4th of October 2022 with plenty of taster sessions. Get in touch with us and try out handball!
