What is the ongoing SU Referendum and Academic Rep Election?

Featured News

Unsure about what the ongoing SU Referendum and Academic Rep Election is? We’ve created a condensed blog explaining everything!

What is the SU Referendum?

A referendum gives all members the chance to have a direct say on key issues that affect the SU and the direction of its work. The SU Referendum will ask students to vote on the following questions:

  1. Should Cambridge SU disaffiliate from the National Union of Students (NUS UK)?

  2. Should Cambridge SU should adopt policy on campaigning for the University to end financial and research ties with organisations and institutions involved in the arms trade and occupation?

All current student members will have the opportunity to vote YES, NO,  or ABSTAIN.

What are the Academic Rep Elections?

Across these elections students get to run for and decide who their Academic Reps will be. By voting, you can help to decide who will represent you on academic issues to the University. There are two types of Academic Rep: subject level and school level!

If there isn’t anyone running as your Subject Rep you can still vote for your School Rep!
