You may have seen our Five Big Questions while in the midst of exams, the phrase ‘win a £250 Eurostar Voucher’ burning in the back of your mind with cravings for a city break. But, there’s more to these questions than a giveaway. We’re here to tell you: what are the Five Big Questions, and why should you fill them out?
What are the Five Big Questions?
These are a set list of questions looking to reshape the SU and our new strategic plan (for those who don’t know what this is, there’s a definition below). Question topics include academic interests, involvement with JCR/MCRs, access and widening participation, and campaigning priorities.
What’s a strategic plan?
At an SU, a strategic plan is all about setting measurable goals that fit the priorities as voiced by students. It’s all about setting actions to achieve these goals and long-term aims. An SU is student-led, so is our strategy.
Why should you fill out these questions?
This is your chance to say what you want from us as an organisation. It’s a chance for YOU to develop our new plan and outline our core areas of work. We want to help with what’s important, and we can’t do that without your input. If you feel like we’re not representing your priorities, then tell us!
So, whether you’re in a society, an academic rep, or just wanting to get through your course in one piece, you can shape the direction of your SU right now. And, whether you’re a first-year or a final-year graduating, you can still have your say as a student who has studied at this university and enhance the experience for the future of Cambridge students.
And, if this doesn’t entice you to fill out the survey, then just think that, if you do, you could be one of the two people to be riding on the Eurostar come summer, the distant memory of deadlines floating away.
