This year’s Reclaim the Night event will be taking place at 6:30pm on Thursday 5th March.
Reclaim the Night is an annual protest in Cambridge and other places across the country, and this year’s protest will take the form of a march around the City followed by a vigil. Reclaim the Night is a night to be outside in the streets without fear of sexual harassment or violence. It is a night rooted in the struggles of sex workers. It is a night to reclaim our streets, our bodies, and to put an end to gendered persecution.
This year’s march begins with a rally and speeches outside Guildhall. We will then march through Cambridge to Michaelhouse for a vigil.
The vigil will provide space to decompress after the march and offers an opportunity for those who prefer not to attend the rally or march to still take part in the event and support the cause.
Attendee Reminders:
We welcome members of the public, community groups, and local universities to march alongside us. This event is a trans-inclusive space. This event will be taking place at dusk, so we encourage all those who attend to wear adequate clothing and eat warm food ahead of the event.
Children and young people of all genders are welcome. We will have safeguarding procedures in place, such as the presence of trained stewards and first aid trained personnel.
