Hi! My name is Jaiveer (JV). As an international student, I believe it is important that cultures from around the world are not just shared but also understood on a deeper level. Different cultures may belong to different parts of the world but can be shared with and appreciated by everyone.
It is important that all members of our college feel at home, and this can sometimes be difficult for those who live far away. To make Fitz truly feel like a home away from home, it is important that everyone in our diverse community understands and appreciates cultures and traditions from around the world.
I aim to be an International Officer that is not just a voice for the international community at Fitz, but one that aims to promote inclusivity and appreciation when it comes to tradition and culture.
GOALS:
1. Establish Support Networks for international students to help them navigate the challenges of studying in a foreign country. By creating a welcoming environment and fostering connections, we can ensure that every student, regardless of their background, feels supported and valued.
2. Form an International Student Club that serves as a hub for cultural exchange, support and collaboration on events that showcase diversity within the international student community.
3. Organising regular community events and mixers to encourage interaction among students from different backgrounds- creating a sense of community and encouraging international students (especially freshers) to build friendships beyond their immediate circles.
