Hey I'm Kayden!
Vote for me as your welfare officer!
Experience;
- I have done safeguarding training (and have refreshed it so it is up to date) so that I can approach welfare concerns from a trained and knowledgeable position.
- In sixth form I was selected to be my form rep so I would pass on concerns to the headteacher and liaise with him how to remedy them, therefore I would know how to deal with welfare concerns that might involve a member of staff.
- There were some religious conflicts in my school and I was entrusted as someone to hear both sides and make comprises and solutions so that everyone felt safe.
Ideas;
- When university life becomes too overwhelming and overstimulating, we could have a "silent sip and paint", where we play relaxing music while we tap into our creativity to help combat feeling overwhelmed.
- When 'week 5 blues' hit and it's a struggle to stay motivated, I will try to organise fun activities as a reward for studying
- If anyone is struggling with making friends or feel like they have no-one to talk to, I will have an "open-email" policy, so anyone can drop me an email just to have a chat!
Goals;
- Create a safe space for everyone.
- Do constant general anonymous checkups.
- Ensure that all welfare concerns are dealt with efficiently.
