Hi, my names Elliot Heath and I’m a first year PBS (Psychological and Behavioural Sciences) student, this is why I should be your next Men’s/NB welfare officer:
Experiences
- I have a deep vested interest in mental health and what can be done to help improve the mental wellbeing of others.
- Sports coaching younger children, which gave me greater insights into individual learning and personality differences that I can now apply to supporting the different needs of Fitz students.
- Having always played team sports I understand both the importance of collaboration and having extra-curricular interests to take your mind away from studies.
Initiatives
- Bring back @fitzjcrwelfare Instagram, it can be used as the one stop place for all things welfare: signposting resources, the latest events and also interactive polls to get your latest feedback.
- Get a Fitz themed Jacks gelato flavour (because what’s more welfare than ice cream)
- Bring a petting zoo for a day during exam term to help alleviate stress
- The continuation of current welfare events (doughnut drop-in) also bring collaborations with other colleges welfare societies and societies within college.
- The creation of more non-alcohol related events in freshers week and throughout term
