Awarded to a student or group who has contributed to the wider Cambridge community. Whether this is launching a new project that has had a positive impact on residents of Cambridge or dedicating a large portion of their time to bettering the community, this award recognises those who have helped the city. The winner of this award could be an individual or group who has partaken in a community scheme, worked with a local charity, or set up a volunteering initiative.

The rep or team of reps who win this award will have a track record of working to ensure the student body is represented in their academic spaces. The winner of this award could have collaborated across the faculty or school on a campaign to tackle an issue impacting education, hosted an event to build a subject community, or communicated clearly with their cohorts on current issues.

They will have dedicated time to tackling the barriers faced by students who are underrepresented in Higher Education and presenting a true image of Cambridge life. The winner of this award may be a student or group who has organised an event, volunteered time to mentor prospective students, or otherwise made efforts to demystify the Cambridge experience.
Contribution to Equality and Liberation
Awarded to a student or group who has worked to improve the experience of marginalised groups within the University and has been a key advocate for equality. This may have been achieved by being involved in a project, campaign, or event which has been designed to support students from marginalised groups or educate others on their experiences. As well as this, the student or group advocates for equality in the university environment. The winner of this award could be an individual or group whose work may create spaces for marginalised students, educate others on their experiences, or lobby for change.
Awarded to a society who have gone above and beyond in the past year. The society has consistently contributed to bettering the student experience through a variety of incredible accomplishments, hosting exceptionally high-standard events, and a hard-working committee that ensures they are representing the voices of their members. Above all, the winning society is committed to delivering the best experience possible. Any student group registered on our SU website page is eligible for this award. If you would like to put forward a society that is not registered with the SU, then please contact us at activities@cambridgesu.co.uk.
