Cambridge SU is seeking a postgraduate student to serve as a Student Trustee for the remainder of the 2025–26 academic year and the full 2026–27 academic year.
To be eligible for this position, candidates must be a University of Cambridge postgraduate student for the entirety of their term.
This role is perfect for someone who wants to build leadership experience and play an active role to help shape the future of Cambridge SU.
There are five trustee board meetings in an academic year, though membership of the board's committees may involve additional meetings.
Key Responsibilities
The Cambridge SU Trustee Board’s powers are strictly limited to what is outlined in Cambridge SU’s governing documents and also those responsibilities the Board must exercise in law. This means, generally:
- Assessing and managing the legal and financial risks to the charity
- Ensuring that Cambridge SU operates inside the law
- Identifying new legal and strategic challenges for the union
Induction and training will be provided to all board members upon appointment.
