The Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Campaign represents, supports, and advocates for all students of colour at the University of Cambridge.
We bring together organisations from across the University to campaign for an inclusive Cambridge. We organise events to build communities of care and compassion for BME students, coordinate with JCR/MCR reps and societies to strengthen BME student representation, and campaign on the big issues that matter to BME students - everything ranging from the lack of targeted mental health support for BME students and racist treatment by student-facing staff, to the Prevent Duty and the Collegiate University's continued connections with the arms trade, the fossil fuel lobby, and corporations that profit from the death and destruction of communities across the globe.

Elections
Elections for the BME Officer and BME Campaign committee are held separately, during Lent.
Forums
Forums decide the direction of the BME Campaign. They are a space where all BME students are welcome to attend to raise concerns, hold the elected BME Campaign committee and the Students’ Union’s full-time BME sabbatical officer to account, and get involved in campaigns for change. For BME reps, these will be a great space to share what you’ve been up to and what difficulties you’ve been facing in your college, share skills and advice, and coordinate campaigns with others. Each Forum will consist of a ‘themed’ discussion based on a certain topic and an ‘open’ section - a call for submissions to decide on the agenda of the ‘open’ section will be circulated in advance of each Forum.
