Intercollegiate Debating Society

Our aim is to make Cambridge debating more accessible to you. We are a new society, looking to fill a gap in current Cambridge debating. By making the society intercollegiate, we hope you will all get on board with your college spirit, and hopefully it will prove less daunting to debate in a competition where friends are watching and supporting you! We are hoping to start with one debate per week, with four colleges taking part (British parliamentary form), and a judge will rank the teams 1-4, with points assigned (4th place =1 point, 1st = 4 points etc.). This will lead to an annual ranking, with a special prize for the winning college following debating cuppers, sponsored by a Cambridge alumni. Anyone with any range of experience can get involved, just drop us an email at cuintercollegiatedebating@gmail.com and like our facebook page where your college captain will be listed who you can also get in touch with. Judge, captain and debate spaces are all up for grabs at the moment, so we look forward to hearing from you :).
