About

Plant-Based Cambridge is a student-led climate campaign calling for the University of Cambridge to follow its own scientific research and transition to 100% plant-based catering.

To avert the climate crisis, the world’s top centres of education need to reject the emissions and injustice perpetrated by animal agriculture. Transitioning to a plant-based food system would reduce greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural production in high-income countries by 61% [1], as well as freeing up 76% of global farmland for rewilding [2].

Our campaign focuses on promoting the benefits of a plant-based diet, demonstrating how plant-based catering can be just and accessible to all, and working with the university to implement a fairer and planet-friendly food system.

Plant-Based University campaigns are taking place in almost 50 UK and international universities, with students coming together to demand climate action from their institutions.

Join our movement and ask the University of Cambridge to be the pioneer it claims to be.
