CUKBS aims to provide basic self-defence training, and to teach specialist kickboxing techniques with a view to competing at University and club level. We train in the style of American Kickboxing, which offers a workout that combines aerobics, cardiovascular and body toning, and is guaranteed to improve your general fitness and conditioning. Techniques used have evolved from other styles such as Tae Kwon Do, Boxing, Muay Thai and Karate, resulting in a very simplified and practical martial art. Our training sessions are run in association with the Cambridge Riverside Martial Arts (CARISMA), who provide our very skilled and experienced instructors. They are highly qualified and are insured, ensuring the technical development of the club and supervising the preparation of fighters. Training sessions consist of two hour classes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and fitness sessions.
