The Cambridge University Sudanese Society aims to recognise, reinforce and provide a space for those of Sudanese descent, and any others interested, to explore the cultural wealth of Sudan. The three focuses of the society are to: 1. Stimulate thought, discussion and academic engagement with pertinent issues affecting Sudan. This involves information evenings to provide historical analysis and informed updates on the situation in Sudan, from a variety of academic perspectives. The opportunity to interact with experts and contribute to the surrounding discussion. 2. Create a space for fostering social connections and an appreciation of Sudanese culture. Celebrating Sudan’s achievements, past and present, with culture nights and informal meet-ups amongst other exciting socials. Both for those currently present at the university, and the future generations keen to explore Sudan, there is now a space and forum for them to do so. 3. Show solidarity and support for the experiences of the Sudanese people.
