Cambridge University Boat Club competes annually against Oxford University in the Boat Races.

Cambridge University Boat Club competes annually against Oxford University in the Boat Races, a side-by-side race over a 4 mile course on the Thames in London. We race our top eights, the Blue Boats, and our reserve boats, Blondie (w) and Goldie (m), at this event. We also form lightweight eights who race Oxford in the lightweight boat races, a unique event in university rowing, which has recently moved to the 4-mile Tideway course as well. We compete at a variety of other regattas throughout the year, including with development squad athletes identified from across the college boat clubs. We train daily on the water on the River Great Ouse in Ely, and do ergs and strength and conditioning sessions at the Goldie Boathouse. Our elite training programme means every session is focused on improving our performance to maximize boat speed. If you are a college rower interested in taking your rowing or coxing further, or have past rowing experience and are interested in trialling with us, please get in touch!
