Returning Officer

The Returning Officer (RO) will have overall responsibility for the elections.

Following our recent governance review, we have implemented not only a new structure for the Sabbatical Officer team but further, a new structure that sees more extensive oversight of the SU elections process.

The Returning Officer's main responsibility is to handle any appeals submitted following election complaint outcomes and effectively communicate any resolutions, notices, and outcomes of these appeals. They will also be required to undertake any of the Deputy Returning Officer duties if escalation is required.

The successful role holder will need to be available to make decisions and rulings throughout the election period.
