Job title: Campaigns Coordinator
Reports to: Democracy & Representation Manager
Place of work: Cambridge SU, 3rd Floor, University Centre, Granta Pl, Mill
Lane, CB2 1RU
Responsible for: 

  • Campaigning and Policy support at Cambridge SU
  • Sabbatical Officer support

Contract: Full Time (35 hours per week) 1 Year FTC, with potential to extend based on funding

The primary purpose of this role is to be the lead staff member supporting and developing the delivery of officer-led campaigns and project work. 

Cambridge SU has eight elected Sabbatical Officers who each deliver on individual projects and campaigns, this role will play a key part in supporting the delivery of these, as a member of the Democracy and Representation Team. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting and empowering others to deliver meaningful change. Key areas of change will include issues surrounding liberation, student rights, fair representation and the role intersectionality plays in society.

This will include:

  • Advising on appropriate tactics for campaigning within Cambridge University, Higher Education and the broader community

  • Providing written and verbal briefings and guidance for elected officers on policy issues in liaison, where necessary, with the rest of the Membership Engagement Department

  • Keeping up to date with local, national and international developments within Higher Education policy
